2020 Favorites in Sustainable Beauty

Sustainable Beauty Favorites in Makeup and Skincare

My favorites in sustainable beauty for 2020

I don’t need to tell you that 2020 was a year! And I can’t say I’m sorry that it is ending. The one good thing about having so much more time at home was that I had the opportunity to try so many beauty products. Here are a few of my favorites that I discovered in 2020. As always, I only feature cruelty-free products.

Makeup Favorites

Aether Beauty Summer Solstice Eyeshadow Palette ($58.00): If I were only allowed one palette, this would be it. These 12 shades can create looks all the way from natural to smoky. I also love to use the shade summer solstice, a peach metallic, as a blush when I’m in a hurry.

Sustainable Solstice Palette

ILIA Beauty Super Serum Skin Tint ($46.00): As much as I loved  ILIA’s Limitless Lash Mascara, I love this tinted moisturizer even more. It provides a dewy yet natural finish.

Super Serum Skin Tint

Nailtopia Nail Lacquer ($10.00): I could say I love it because it is 85% bio-sourced. Or because of their green manufacturing processes. But really, I love Nailtopia nail polish because it lasts longer than any other polish I’ve ever tried. As a Nailtopia Maven, they send me a product each month, but my favorite shade, Yacht Week, is one I bought myself.

Skincare Favorites

booni doon Calm Cleansing Capsules ($38.00): This innovative waterless cleaner is unlike any other cleanser you’ve tried. Just empty the capsule into your palm and add water. The capsules are stored in a glass jar with a bamboo lid. They do take some getting used to, but I enjoy the experience of using them. They gifted me my first jar, but I have since bought another, and I look forward to trying future booni doon products.

CALM cleansing capsules

Tata Harper Crème Riche ($195.00): In my review, I stated I wouldn’t purchase this night cream again because it is too costly. Now that I have nearly emptied it, I am reconsidering. I wouldn’t pay full price, but I am keeping my eyes open for a sale.

Creme Riche

Derma-E Overnight Peel ($18.99): Ever since I introduced regular exfoliation to my skincare routine, my skin has never been better. I use a few different chemical exfoliators, but Derma-E’s Overnight Peel is my favorite. It works and is super easy to use. Just put it on before bed and rinse it off in the morning. I also love that Derma-E uses wind energy, uses only recyclable packaging, and supports environmental causes.

Overnight Peel

I had a hard time keeping my list of favorites to just 6. As a beauty junkie, I tried many products this year—more than ever before. In the end, these 6 products not only work but are the ones I enjoy using the most.

I would love to hear what holy grail products you found this year. Leave a comment and let me know.
